History of Website Development:

If you are new to the world of website and instead of just surfing on browser, you have decided to have one of your own, its never too late to know the basics but there are many important things one must know before diving in.

Few years back there were methods that were very difficult or it very was tedious because it involved HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) programming. If we categorize these methodologies with the evolution then we can say that this was the first stage . It was not easy for a common person to design his own website. 

Over the last few years many software tools have been developed for creating website such as Adobe Dreamweaver. This is one of the very best tools that graphics designers are using all over the world. This stage can be classified as the second stage of the website development.

At the present time there many tools available that do not require any installation on your own personal computer or on your laptop. All you have to do is to have an internet connection and personal computer. This is the third stage of the website development.

Requirements:

There are some basic requirements one must know before creating his website or these would be required even if you as someone to design a website for you.

1. Domain Registration and Hosting: 

This is the most important step of your website creation. No website can be created without a domain. the part of the URL Address after the www. is your domain for example www.google.com where www stands for world wide web and it defines the protocol which would make your website publicly available on every computer in the world. The second part google.com is the domain of the website.

There are many domain providers which provide the registration of domains and its hosting. You have to search the desired domain name on the website of domain registration company such as GoDaddy or HostGator If it is available you are good to go but if it's not then you will be given suggested domain names or you can change it yourself to select one that meets your requirements.

2. SSL Certificate: 

A website that is not secured is a threat to the owner and reader is also vulnerable to cyber attacks. In order to have a website that reader can visit easily it must be secured and the domain providers provide the SSL Certificate to fulfill this purpose. Now you might be thinking is it free or it has cost. The answer is that it has cost (you will have to buy it). After you buy the certificate you must add it to your website and the method for doing so can be easily found on the internet (I will not describe it here because discussion about SSL will get more detailed).

3. Website Content: 

Before starting creating your website it is very obvious that you would need the content of your website for example you would need pictures and text. Without pictures and text you cannot design the website. Have your logo ready with you and remember all content must be unique. Please do not copy anyone's else stuff.

4. Start Creating Online: 

There are many online tools available such as WordPress, Wix, WebsiteBuilder. Shopify etc. for creating your websites. They have plenty of themes ready for you and all you can do is either use their free themes or you can purchase one if you would like to. There is further differentiation of the types website. Some websites are static or responsive (also called interactive). The responsive or interactive websites respond to the customer actions where as the static websites do not. Also someone might want to create an e-commerce website where user or customer may want to buy something. You will have to link your domain (the one you registered at the domain registrar's website) to the store you are creating.
